About

RHPetrogas, an independent upstream oil and gas company, needed a comprehensive compliance system to monitor and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines, and specifications relevant to its business processes. The goal was to streamline their regulatory processes and empower both staff and administrators through an intuitive and responsive platform.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to design a compliance dashboard that was visually modern yet familiar to existing users, enabling seamless adoption. The system needed to cater to distinct user roles—staff and administrators—while providing a user-friendly content management system to give the client control over content updates without requiring programming skills.

Design Process

Phase 1: Information Architecture

We began with a systematic methodology, presenting a detailed diagram to define the compliance system's information architecture. This structure ensured the dashboard and CMS were logically organized to meet the client’s objectives.

Phase 2: Iterative Design Process

The design process progressed through iterative stages:

• Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Focused on layout and functionality.

• High-Fidelity Prototypes: Refined designs with client feedback integrated at each step.
  This collaborative approach ensured continuous alignment with RH Petrogas’ needs and expectations.

Phase 3: User Role Optimization

To enhance usability, we defined and implemented distinct user roles:

• Staff: Focused on viewing compliance data and monitoring adherence without editing capabilities.

• Administrators: Granted full control over system data, including the ability to add, edit, and delete regulations.
  This separation streamlined workflows and clarified user responsibilities.

Phase 4: Dashboard Design

The dashboard design combined modern aesthetics and responsive features while maintaining familiarity with their existing platform, Prisma. This approach eased the transition for users, enabling intuitive navigation and ensuring a seamless user experience.

Final Phase: Development and Testing

We developed the dashboard and CMS to be responsive across devices, ensuring accessibility for all users. Rigorous testing was conducted to verify system performance, data accuracy, and ease of use across different roles.
